I didn’t really plan for heardle to become part of my day. At first, it was just something I tried out of curiosity because I had already played Wordle and wanted to see what the music version felt like. It seemed simple enough: listen to a short intro and guess the song. I thought I’d play it once or twice and move on. But somehow, it stuck.

After a few days, I noticed I was opening it almost automatically. Usually in the morning, sometimes while waiting for coffee or just scrolling on my phone without thinking. It didn’t feel like a “game session” in the traditional sense. It felt more like checking something off a list, even though there was no real reward except the small satisfaction of getting it right.

What surprised me most was how quickly it blended into my routine without demanding attention. Some days I would guess the song instantly and feel a small win before even starting my day. Other days I would struggle, skip a few times, and still end up learning or rediscovering a track I had forgotten. Either way, it didn’t feel like wasted time.

Over time, Heardle became less about winning and more about the habit itself. It was a short pause in my day, something predictable in a way everything else wasn’t. Even when I stopped actively thinking about it, I still found myself coming back the next day.

I think that’s the strange part—it never forced itself on me, but it still stayed. And now, even when I take breaks, it feels like something is missing from the routine until I open it again.
